2:00 PM CDT Monday 03 June 2019 Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for areas in yellow:


Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. Thunderstorms are developing in southwestern Manitoba this afternoon along a trough of low pressure. Some of these thunderstorms may become severe. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when atmospheric conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms that could produce one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.

2:38 PM CDT Monday 03 June 2019 Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for areas in red:

  • Mun. of Brenda-Waskada incl. Medora and GoodlandsMun. of Deloraine-Winchester

  • Mun. of Souris-Glenwood

At 2:38 p.m. CDT, Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing very strong wind gusts, nickel to ping pong ball size hail and heavy rain. This thunderstorm is at the international border south of Goodlands and is moving east at 30 km/h. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Intense lightning is likely with any thunderstorm that develops. Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes. Lightning kills and injures Canadians every year. Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors! Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall.
