Check out this large area of Low pressure spin in northern Manitoba as depicted by the above satellite animation!! This Low pressure (denoted by a red "L" below) will be responsible for dragging a cold front through southern Manitoba/Saskatchewan today.
This cold front will be responsible for some showers in Manitoba later today, but no severe weather is expected. Some stronger storms may be possible in parts of the Northern Plains today. The cold front will bring about a lull in severe weather for the Prairie Provinces, for more information about that visit here: https://www.nzpchasers.com/post/lull-in-severe-weather-expected-for-prairie-provinces
