A bitterly cold arctic air mass will remain over Manitoba for the next few days. Extreme wind chills are forecast to exceed -40 in most of southern Manitoba, and -45 in northern Manitoba.

Significant warming is forecast for Wednesday associated with an approaching warm front.

Extreme cold puts everyone at risk.

Make sure your home is well-insulated, the heating system is working efficiently and cracks and drafts are sealed.

Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
