Churchill to see -57 wind chill tomorrow morning

Warnings

10:26 AM CST Friday 25 January 2019 Extreme Cold Warning in effect for:

  • Churchill

A multi-day episode of very cold wind chills continues. Extreme wind chill values of -45 to -50 continue over northern Manitoba. Cold air will remain anchored over the region for the coming days as a ridge of high pressure settles in. Therefore, these wind chill values are expected to persist over the weekend and into next week. Extreme cold puts everyone at risk. Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill. Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
