Blizzard Warnings Issued for Saskatchewan

Warnings

9:41 AM CST Tuesday 16 November 2021 Blizzard warning in effect for:

Blizzard conditions with poor visibility occasionally near zero in snow and blowing snow are expected or occurring. A low pressure system moving through southern Saskatchewan today is causing widespread strong winds gusting up to 110 km/h. Along with the strong winds, snow at times heavy is moving across southwestern Saskatchewan from Kindersley area moving to the southeast. Combining these strong winds and snow will cause visibility to quickly and drastically reduce in blowing snow. These extreme conditions are expected to last until later this afternoon or this evening.

Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Protect yourself from wind, cold and disorientation by staying sheltered, indoors or with your vehicle. Limit outdoor activities. Blizzard warnings are issued when widespread reduced visibilities of 400 metres or less are expected for at least 4 hours. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to SKstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #SKStorm.
