Between 15 and 20 centimetres of snow, strong winds and blowing snow are expected. An intense winter storm will move across New England Sunday, then the Gulf of St. Lawrence on Monday. It will affect Southern and Central Quebec Saturday evening and Sunday bringing significant snowfall accumulations and strong winds causing blowing snow. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Winter storm warnings are issued when multiple types of severe winter weather are expected to occur together.

7:19 AM EST Saturday 19 January 2019 Extreme Cold Warning in effect for (most of Quebec)
A multi-day episode of very cold wind chills continues. Wind chill values will reach between minus 40 and minus 50 at times. This cold snap will continue until Monday in several areas. Cover up. Frostbite can develop within minutes on exposed skin, especially with wind chill. Extreme cold warnings are issued when very cold temperatures or wind chill creates an elevated risk to health such as frost bite and hypothermia.
