Warnings

4:21 AM CST Sunday 03 February 2019 Snowfall warning in effect for:

  • City of Winnipeg

  • Portage La Prairie

  • Brandon

A weather disturbance moving through the Northern Plains will bring snow to southern Manitoba today. The snow will push into the extreme southwestern areas this morning and then spread to the Ontario border by evening. The snow will continue into Sunday night. The snow will end west to east early Monday as this weather system moves through the Great Lakes.

Generally snowfall totals will be 10 to 15 cm with the higher amounts towards the International Border. This snow will likely be fluffier than average and some blowing snow is possible.

This heavy snowfall will also affect adjacent American states. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.

Snowfall warnings are issued when significant snowfall is expected.
