Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts. Potential for a severe thunderstorm squall line this afternoon. A strong Pacific cold front is forecast to move across the central interior this afternoon. In the wake of the front, winds will rise abruptly to southwest 40 km/h gusting to 70 km/h over all areas. There is also the potential for a line of thunderstorms to develop which could result in gusts as high as 90 km/h.
Strong wind gusts can toss loose objects, damage weak buildings, break branches off trees and overturn large vehicles. Be prepared for severe weather. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Stay indoors when a thunderstorm strikes. There isn't a place outside that is safe during a thunderstorm.
