Southwestern Ontario was/is being impacted by heavy freezing rain this afternoon. Areas of southern Ontario have been dealing with a mix of snow/sleet/freezing rain and rain theoughout the day. While we often talk about road conditions during such events, sometimes the weather takes a toll on the road cameras too! Below are from Ontario 511 road cameras.

From Environment Canada warnings:

“A winter storm with freezing rain and total snow and ice pellet amounts near 15 cm continues tonight. Freezing rain continues this evening. Ice build-up of 5 to 10 mm is possible before the freezing rain changes to snow later this evening. Additional snowfall amounts of 2 to 4 cm are expected tonight.”
