A severe storm impacted extreme southwestern Ontario a few hours ago and a spectacular shelf cloud developed! This happened a few minutes ago roughly around 9:00pm EDT. Here was the radar at the time near Tilbury, Ontario:

Chatham-Kent - Rondeau Park
A few strong thunderstorms will track southeastward over the next several hours. These storms will be capable of producing very strong wind gusts of 100 km/h, nickel size hail and very heavy rain. Total rainfall amounts from these thunderstorms could approach 50 mm locally. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Avoid driving through water on roads. Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued when imminent or occurring thunderstorms are likely to produce or are producing one or more of the following: large hail, damaging winds, torrential rainfall. The Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Management recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
