
-40 wind chills return to Prairies tonight/tomorrow morning

Model trends from the NAM 12km are pretty consistent in showing cold temperatures returning to the Prairie Provinces later tonight into Monday morning. Areas of southern and northern Saskatchewan/Manitoba should see temperatures in the -30C by Monday morning.

With the wind, some areas of Manitoba could see wind chills nearing -45 (see above).
Brandon: -32C with -45 wind chill possible
Winnipeg: -30C with -38 wind chill possible
Regina: -32C with -40 wind chill possible

Temperatures should begin to moderate on Wednesday. Unlike previous events, this cold blast should be relatively short lived.
